Traffic Lights Installed at Crossing: The installation of traffic lights at a crossing in Postmasburg was the third biggest infrastructure project that had been launched by councillor Hazel Mothibi – Mayor of Tsantsabane, since the implementation of social and labour plans at Tsantsabane. As a result of the additional work that needed to be done, Kumba South mine, now known as Kolomela mine, assisted in funding the installation of traffic lights at the crossing. Although the project has been opened for public use, the MEC of Roads and Public works, MEC Dawid Rooi has promised to open the project officially on 03 August 2010 at the crossing in Postmasburg. Mayor Mothibi in her opening speech, encouraged councillors to hold community meetings to educate the community on the use of these projects. Mayor Mothibi further said that the completion of this project was in line with government’s slogan that says “2010 is theyear of action”. The Mayor said this is the begin-ning of a successful end to the current term of council which was marked by a lot of planning. The challenge now remains to market the municipality as destination of choice in the Northern Cape Province. Tsantsabane Communication
